Photo, video & community content agreement
Version 2026-10-14 · Effective 14 October 2026
This agreement applies when you submit photos, videos, audio within videos, artwork, forum topics, replies, captions, social links or other community content (Content) to the Writers Supply website or apps. “We”, “us” and “our” mean the operator of Writers Supply. It supplements the Terms & community rules and should be read with our Privacy notice.
1. Your responsibility and permissions
By submitting Content, you confirm that you own it or have a licence, permission or other lawful basis that allows you to upload it and grant the limited permission in section 3. This includes the photo or video itself and any artwork, music, recordings, footage, logos or other protected material within it. Taking a photo or crediting an artist does not by itself give you all the rights needed to publish their work.
You must obtain any permissions required for identifiable people, personal information, locations and other protected rights. As a community rule, obtain consent before making a recognisable person the subject of an upload; for a child, obtain appropriate parent or guardian permission as well as any consent required by law. Do not publish private contact details, intimate material or someone’s home location without lawful authority. Where permission is uncertain, do not upload.
You are responsible for your statements, captions and links and for complying with laws that apply to you. Do not impersonate others or misrepresent who made an artwork, whether you have permission to paint, or whether a business endorses your post. Showing artwork here is not permission to trespass or paint property.
2. Content we do not allow
Do not submit unlawful or infringing material; defamatory statements; threats, harassment or hate; exploitation or abuse; nudity or sexual content; graphic violence; scams, spam or malicious links; or content encouraging vandalism or trespass. These rules apply to all media, text, names and links, including material embedded in a video. Use the service for lawful art, supplies and respectful discussion.
3. You keep ownership; limited permission to run the service
You keep ownership of your Content and retain your moral rights. You grant Writers Supply a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide permission to store, copy, technically resize or convert, moderate and display your Content and chosen credit through the website and apps, including the Community Wall, its preview/slideshow, the members’ gallery and forum, as appropriate to where you submit it. Our hosting and moderation service providers may process it on our behalf for these purposes, as described in the Privacy notice.
This is not a transfer of ownership, permission to sell your work, or permission to use it in unrelated advertising. You may request removal using Report a concern. Once removed from normal display, this permission continues only as reasonably needed for backups, security, dispute handling or legal obligations. It does not authorise indefinite ordinary display after a valid removal request is actioned.
4. Visibility and moderation
Approved Community Wall and forum Content can be viewed publicly through the website and apps. The gallery requires signed-in membership, but the same wall photos may also appear in the public slideshow or preview. Others may capture or share what they can view; we cannot guarantee recovery of copies made outside the service. Do not upload confidential material.
Photos and forum text may be checked automatically and may be published if they pass. Flagged content and unsuccessful checks wait for owner review; videos require owner approval. Checks can miss problems or incorrectly flag material. Approval is not proof of ownership, accuracy, permission, safety or lawfulness, and is not an endorsement.
We may decline, restrict or remove Content and suspend posting where reasonably needed to enforce our rules, respond to complaints, protect people or comply with law. We do not promise publication or uninterrupted display. You can ask for a review of a moderation decision through Report a concern.
5. Third-party content and limits of liability
Members, not Writers Supply, create their submissions and are responsible for them. Their views and actions are not necessarily ours. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, permissions or suitability of third-party Content or linked sites merely because we host, display or approve it.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Writers Supply and its operator exclude liability for loss or damage caused by third-party Content, a contributor’s unauthorised or unlawful submission, or reliance on third-party statements or links.
This is not a blanket waiver or immunity. Nothing in this agreement excludes or restricts rights, remedies, guarantees or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable Australian Consumer Law rights and mandatory protections in your country. Nothing excuses our own fraud, wilful misconduct or negligence, or removes our obligations to respond to unlawful content, complaints or lawful notices. You are not agreeing to pay for wrongdoing by the operator.
6. Reports, copyright and removal requests
Use the Report button beside an item, or Report a concern / request removal. You do not need to be a member to submit a report. Select or describe the content and include its link or reference, what is wrong, the rights involved and any contact details needed for a reply. Copyright complaints should identify the protected work and explain your authority to act. Do not attach or reproduce illegal material as evidence.
We review reports and may restrict access, remove Content, seek more information or take account action as appropriate. Reports are not an emergency service and an immediate response is not guaranteed. For immediate danger in Australia call 000, or your local emergency service elsewhere. You can also seek help from Australia’s eSafety Commissioner.
7. Your agreement and the record we keep
Before submitting, you must actively tick the agreement box. For a multi-file upload, your confirmation applies to every file in that batch, its caption and links. Forum confirmation applies to the topic or reply and any attached photo. If you do not agree, do not submit.
We record this agreement’s version and the server acceptance time with your submission and account identifier. The checkbox records your declaration that you have read and agreed; it does not prove that you own the rights. Existing content is not treated as retroactively accepted. If these conditions change, the revised version must be accepted before a new submission.
